Personal Growth as a Group

A weekend soon after finals, I visited a friend at UT proper. He is a devout Christian and was visibly reborn after obtaining his faith. He took me to their Campus House of Prayer (CHOP) where the two of us worshiped together, prayed, and studied for a good while. The CHOP is a cross-ministry place where Christians can come (they commonly reserve a (non-exclusive) time) to worship and pray.

I commonly fail at having quiet times and general proactive worship. From what I understand, I am not the only one. From what I understand, I am not the only one who realizes the benefits and wants to have more quiet times, but doesn't.

I think that FOCUS could really benefit from a CHOP, but we can't do the same thing for reasons that I have not provided enough information to understand. So my current idea is to have LTG-like groups (group-like groups... nice) that are dedicated to small-scale worship and prayer. I think that the groups would force some people out of their comfort zone and help them grow outside of the group. I realize that this would be yet another group meeting, but I think it would be worthwhile to many people.

Does anyone want to be in my group or have a better idea?

I'd like to hear more about your idea. How you would vision a group forming? Who'd be involved? What would the meeting look like? I don't have much (or any) experience with a CHOP, so I guess if you could explain more of it, or at least our implementation of it, it'd would help me out.

It would be very different from a CHOP - only inspired by one. Basically a group of people decide to form a group and they meet at a semi-regular time in an apartment or other location where they worship and pray. How much worship and prayer is up to them. What they worship and pray is up to them. Outloud and/or silent pray is up to them. I personally would like about 50-50 worship and prayer, with mostly outloud prayer, but a few minutes of private prayer.

I think it's an awesome idea and that you would be awesome to lead it. LEt me know when because I'd like to take part.
